Where Care Meets Community

Building a home that honors tradition, embraces diversity, and celebrates daily connection

Our Story

Gracewood opened in early 2019 when a small group of families in Phuket began looking for residential care that felt like an actual home rather than an institution. They wanted a place where their loved ones could enjoy the island's tropical warmth while being supported by caregivers who genuinely cared about building relationships.

The founding team included nurses, hospitality professionals, and longtime Phuket residents who understood both Thai and international cultural values. They chose Patong for its accessibility, established international community, and year-round pleasant climate. The location allows residents to feel connected to island life while remaining close to medical facilities and urban conveniences when needed.

From the beginning, we chose to focus on companionship and daily living support rather than clinical medical care. This decision came from watching how much vitality people maintain when they feel socially engaged and culturally connected. We wanted to create a setting where residents could participate in craft activities that honored Thai traditions, share meals family-style, and welcome visitors freely.

Today, Gracewood serves seniors from various countries who appreciate the combination of tropical outdoor living, international community, and traditional Thai hospitality. Our staff members build genuine relationships with residents through consistent assignments, and families tell us they value being able to visit anytime and receive regular updates on their loved ones' well-being.

Why Families Trust Gracewood

Tropical Island Living with Urban Convenience

Phuket offers year-round warmth, outdoor enjoyment under palm shade, and proximity to beaches without the isolation of remote locations. Patong provides easy access to international hospitals, shopping, and services that families appreciate when visiting.

Relationship-Centered Approach

Rather than rotating staff across many residents, we assign caregivers to work consistently with the same individuals. This allows real connections to form, making daily routines feel more personal and less clinical. Residents and staff members often develop friendships that extend beyond basic care tasks.

Meaningful Activity Programming

Our craft calendar emphasizes handwork and artisan traditions that connect residents to Thai culture while creating tangible accomplishments. Activities welcome all skill levels and focus on the social joy of creating together rather than performance or competition.

Open Family Involvement

Visiting hours remain flexible because we recognize that family connections support emotional well-being. Many relatives establish regular visit patterns that work with their schedules, and we welcome participation in activities or shared meals whenever families are present.
